How We Work

Systems Integration

Sawtooth integrates ABB robotics into real production environments where uptime and safety matter. We define requirements and risks early, then build an architecture that fits the line, the operators, and the plant. Integration includes mechanical coordination, controls, safety, and data flow so the system runs as one unit, not a set of parts. We design for serviceability and provide thorough training for client teams.

What to expect: Clear requirements, risk review, and a system built to run and be supported.
  • Requirements and risk review before design is locked
  • Controls and safety integrated into the full system
  • Built for maintainability, documentation, and operator readiness

Engineering and Design

Engineering and design are where performance is won or lost. Sawtooth uses a phased design process that makes decisions visible early and keeps changes manageable. We use simulation and digital validation to reduce risk, including ABB RobotStudio for layout and cycle-time testing. Customers stay involved through regular reviews with clear tradeoffs on speed, flexibility, footprint, and cost. The result is a design that fits real production, not ideal conditions.

What to expect: Early visibility into design decisions, validation, and practical tradeoffs.
  • Stepwise design with regular customer reviews
  • Simulation and digital validation to reduce risk
  • Practical tradeoffs for footprint, throughput, and serviceability

Software and Programming

Software is the brains of the system. Sawtooth develops robot and controls software for predictable performance, clear diagnostics, and operator usability. Programming includes motion, sequencing, safety logic, HMI design, and integration with sensors and vision when needed. We focus on building intuitive interfaces so operators and maintenance teams can respond quickly. When traceability is important, we can capture events and system data to support audits and continuous improvement.

What to expect: Stable behavior, clear diagnostics, and practical recovery in production.
  • Production-focused logic with clear fault recovery
  • Operator-friendly HMIs, including bilingual support when required
  • Vision and data integration to support traceability and diagnostics

Support & Maintenance

Sawtooth support is structured to protect long-term results, with programs tailored to customer needs . We provide responsive remote troubleshooting, preventative maintenance options, and training that helps internal teams build capability over time. When monitoring is appropriate, we can support visibility into system health and performance with customer-controlled access and cybersecurity safeguards. The goal is sustained uptime and consistent output, backed by a partner that stays engaged after startup.

What to expect: Support that scales by site and keeps systems running over time.
  • Support programs tailored by site and operational need
  • Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and training
  • Optional monitoring with customer-controlled access
